Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer – Supplier Production Systems to strengthen the industrial maturity of Siemens Energy's global supplier network, particularly within high-complexity manufacturing environments. This role focuses on improving supplier production systems, enhancing manufacturing capabilities, and building long-term operational excellence across the global supply base.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage directly with suppliers, and lead initiatives that improve production stability, capacity planning, manufacturing efficiency, and operational robustness. This position emphasizes supplier capability development, continuous improvement, and process optimization rather than day-to-day quality support or site-based industrial engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze supplier production systems to identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, process inefficiencies, and capability gaps.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on capacity modeling, constraint analysis, production flow optimization, lead-time reduction, and KPI development.
- Strengthen supplier capabilities by improving manufacturing processes, production technologies, and system robustness.
- Translate business objectives into structured supplier development programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, best practices, and training materials to scale successful methodologies across the organization.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional and matrix organizations, influencing stakeholders through technical expertise and strong communication.
- Balance hands-on supplier support with strategic capability building using Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and structured methodologies.
- Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to improve supplier performance and supply chain resilience.
- Support global supplier development initiatives through international collaboration and periodic travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience improving production systems, manufacturing operations, or supplier performance within complex industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, production optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Experience utilizing data analytics, digital manufacturing tools, and AI-enabled technologies to support operational improvements.
- Ability to create technical documentation and deliver training, coaching, and knowledge transfer programs.
- Demonstrated success working within matrix organizations and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40%, depending on project and supplier requirements.
