Commercial Building Superintendent
Overall responsibility for the successful completion of commercial and healthcare construction projects, on time and within budget. Directly supervise and coordinate activities of construction work. Oversee the production and performance of multiple team members and subcontractors. Team member will have 5+ years’ experience as a commercial building superintendent.

- Report incidents immediately to the risk management team in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the Company
- Build and maintain owner, architect, subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Always work with customer service in mind
- Interact clients and study instructions, plans or diagrams to establish work requirement; Interactions will include in-person meetings, digital and phone communications
- Reviews and understands project budgets with understanding of project and subcontractor scopes of work
- Attend in-house pre-construction meetings
- Attend project meetings and be prepared to discuss the schedule and any issues
- Train and develop team members in construction methods, operation of equipment when applicable, safety procedures and/or Company policies
- Enter daily project data including but not limited to accurate labor, equipment and quantity reporting
- Collect and code all material delivery tickets and turn in to the Division Administrative Assistant
- Document construction occurrences and activities
- Provide information and direction to Project Manager in order to maintain an accurate document control plan including plan logs, change orders, field checks and as-builts
- Supervise and work alongside teams and subcontractors to assist in the installation and construction of commercial buildings
- Coordinate and communicate with all subcontractors/vendors and effectively deal with problems such as deliveries, labor, schedule, defective work and necessary inspections
- Ensure that all projects are performed in accordance with contract and quality standards
- Inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met
- Coordinate weekly look ahead and resources with Project Manager
- Communicate with Project Manager on design and construction issues
- Resolves conflicts and coordinates daily workflow on construction projects
- Complete and turn in work orders as soon as extra work has been performed
- Assist in gathering information for as-builts and project closeout documents
- Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, hires or discipline
- Be willing to go the extra mile with surges in workloads
- Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the priorities
- Willingness to work hours as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or related field a plus but not required
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with jobsite supervisors and fellow team members
- Must have strong coordination, time management, active listening, communication and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to effectively use all required PPE and lift up to fifty pounds. Moderate physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts and working in awkward body positions.

- OSHA 30 hour
- Rigging
- Trenching and Excavation Competent Person
- First Aid/CPR
