Senior Accountant

Banyan Search is looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives at the intersection of detail and strategy. This role balances the precision of accounting with the forward-thinking mindset of financial planning. You’ll not only ensure the numbers are right, you’ll help shape how those numbers guide decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with department leaders to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Drive accurate and timely month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
• Maintain oversight of the general ledger across multiple entities, ensuring integrity and consistency.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and treasury reports to inform cash flow planning.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal policies, and all regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and streamline processes for greater efficiency.
• Provide audit support by compiling schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
• Work cross-functionally to advise teams on financial implications of operational decisions.
• Communicate complex accounting topics in a clear, accessible way to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance with 3+ years of progressive experience, ideally with exposure to manufacturing or construction.
• Ability to balance competing priorities, adapt quickly, and deliver on deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills, ERP familiarity (Great Plains or similar) preferred.
• Analytical thinker with problem-solving instincts and an eye for detail.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, strong Excel skills, and comfort with ERP systems (Great Plains is a bonus).
• Clear communicator who builds trust and collaborates seamlessly across functions.
