Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660-$1700
• Healthcare Setting: 41-bed inpatient unit with telemetry capability
• Assignment Length: 17-week travel nursing contract (9/22/2025 – 1/19/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours/week available)
• Orientation: 24 hours (2 shifts with preceptor plus EMR education)
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling, per unit needs
• Float Requirement: Yes, to similar hospital units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NC or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification (required)
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• Proficient in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Epic charting experience preferred
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Ability to float to similar units and work every other weekend
• Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• First-time travel nurses welcome

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to renal and limb preservation patients, including those with ESRD, ARF, CHF, diabetes, and vascular conditions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response situations
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team: hospitalists, RN navigators, nursing assistants, dietary, PT/OT, pharmacy, and more
• Support patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments
• Utilize Pyxis, Epic EMR, and SBAR systems for medication administration and clinical documentation
• Float to similar inpatient units within the hospital as needed based on census and skill set
• Participate in self-scheduling and adhere to fatigue policy (no more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours/week)
• Maintain compliance with flu vaccine requirements (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
