Structural Engineer Intern, Substation

Job Summary

As a Structural Engineer (Substation) Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. Chosen candidates will be located in/or relocate to Orlando (FL) or Raleigh (NC).

Key Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references

Minimum Qualifications

No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering program with a preferred emphasis in Structural Engineering. Preference in coursework is at least 1 design course. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

This intern position is expected to be in the office on a full-time basis.
