Principal
Secondary Administrator Job Description
Must have experience as a middle and/or high school administrator.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL
- Meet with middle and high school teachers as the school year begins to complete Professional Growth Plans (PDP). Follow up with mid-year and end-of-year reviews.
- Take a leadership role in guiding curriculum implementation and supervision
- Visit classrooms and complete teacher evaluations using NCEES
- Handle discipline referrals fairly, consistently, and timely
- Help coordinate Family Nights for various grade levels
HIGH SCHOOL SPECIFIC
- Coordinate Driver Education program: 1) 2-3 yearly classes with Chatham County Schools/NC Driving School, 2) eligibility forms, & 3) handle license revocation process
- Point person for Governor’s School, Summer Ventures & state Page Program applications
- Work with central services team on planning Commencement and other major campus events
SCHEDULING
- Build the high school master schedule that works with CCCC class schedules and middle school electives in collaboration with central services staff and the college liaison.
PERSONNEL
- Manage support staff
- Knowledge of Infinite Campus, PowerSchool/Testing, Athletics/Operations
COMMUNICATIONS (in conjunction with central services)
- Gather information from school stakeholders (staff, PTSA, Boosters, etc.) and record weekly SchoolMessenger announcements (Sunday evenings at 5:10pm) and any others as needed.
- Update the HS lobby display board or designate a the HS receptionist to do so
- Contribute to newsletter (periodic publication for families)
OTHER
- Supervise middle and high school athletic events
- Work closely with the central services team
