Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads a team of production employees, coordinates workflow, monitors performance, and drives continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety goals.

• Train, coach, and develop production team members to promote skill growth and teamwork.

• Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

• Ensure all employees comply with company safety policies and procedures; lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.

• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, scrap rates, and labor utilization.

• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and product quality.

• Manage staffing levels, employee scheduling, and performance evaluations.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma projects.

• Maintain accurate records of production data, downtime, and material usage.

• Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and training programs.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production tracking systems (ERP/MRP).

• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, technical drawings, and work instructions.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

• Work may involve exposure to noise, temperature variations, and manufacturing equipment.
