CT Technologist Job Details – Salisbury, NC

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel contract)
• Location: Salisbury, NC 28144 (Central North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Hospital – Adult Acute Care, Outpatient, Emergency Department
• Start Date: September 3, 2025
• End Date: December 3, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Saturday (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 37 hours (3x9.5-hour shifts, 1x10-hour shift)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2010 - $2060
• Call Requirement: 3 days every 4 weeks (30-minute response time required)
• Float Requirement: Float between ER scanner and main department scanner

CT Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience in a community hospital setting
• Current ARRT (R) certification and ARRT Advanced Certification (CT) required
• BLS certification required
• Active NC or Compact State Radiologic Technologist license (must be in hand at start)
• Experience in adult acute care, outpatient, and emergency department imaging
• Proficiency in abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, and neck CT scans (with and without contrast)
• Experience with brain perfusion, CT arthrography, myelography, musculoskeletal trauma, and special procedures (aspirations & biopsies)
• Skilled in preparation and administration of contrast media; starting peripheral IVs and venipuncture
• Familiarity with PACS (SIEMENS preferred) and McKesson systems
• Ability to float between imaging units as needed
• Preferred: ACLS certification, pediatric acute care experience, multiplanar reconstruction (MRP), biopsies, colonography, drainage, and vascular CTAs

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic imaging orders
• Prepare patients for CT procedures and provide patient care throughout imaging
• Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology
• Modify care based on patient age, condition, and abilities
• Follow clinical protocols to optimize technical factors and maximize patient safety
• Identify, prepare, and administer medications (including contrast media) as prescribed
• Perform venipuncture and start peripheral IVs as needed
• Evaluate CT images for quality and ensure accurate patient identification
• Ensure timely review and transfer of images and clinical information
• Operate EMR, RIS, and PACS systems proficiently
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure
• Maintain compliance with federal and state radiation safety laws
• Assist with interventional CT procedures as needed
• Maintain equipment performance and schedule maintenance for emergent needs
• Float between ER and main department scanners as required
