Job Title: Materials Management Specialist

Location: Morrisville, NC (507 Airport Blvd, Morrisville, NC 27560)

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Pay Rate: $19.33 – $20.00 per hour

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Materials Management Specialist is responsible for supporting supply chain operations including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and logistics coordination. This role ensures the accurate handling of time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive materials while maintaining compliance with company procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute shipping and receiving activities for time-sensitive and temperature-controlled shipments.

Ensure materials are received from approved vendors and entered accurately into inventory systems.

Prepare finished goods for shipment according to company specifications and ensure timely delivery.

Review and monitor incoming materials to ensure proper purchase order processing and quality standards are met.

Maintain inventory accuracy and accountability for materials and products.

Coordinate material availability to meet production schedules and shipment deadlines.

Follow standard operating procedures and operational methods for warehouse and logistics activities.

Maintain documentation to track departmental performance and operational efficiency.

Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and customers.

Verify incoming and outgoing shipments along with all required logistics documentation.

Process import/export documentation and shipping paperwork.

Prepare shipping bills, invoices, and related documentation.

Compare freight costs and coordinate transportation arrangements.

Obtain shipping rates, schedules, and vessel space as required.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

1–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred.

Knowledge of import/export logistics is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Experience with Microsoft Office, WMS, and ERP systems preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment (preferred but not required).

Prior experience in supply chain or logistics environments.

Additional Information

Local travel may be required (5–10%) to nearby warehouse and lab locations.
