Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Wilson, NC 27893 (Eastern North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,730–$1,770 per week
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract (July 20, 2025 – October 19, 2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts/week)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), 3rd & 5th floors, 22 beds each
• Patient Ratio: 6:1 up to 7:1
• Electronic Health Record: MEDITECH
• Orientation: Bi-weekly start dates for travel nurses

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Associate's degree in Nursing (minimum requirement)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Experience with MEDITECH EHR preferred
• Ability to float to Telemetry, Emergency Department (ED), or as a second nurse as needed
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Wilson, NC to qualify for travel nurse status

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with clinical procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units (Telemetry, ED) as required
• Maintain accurate patient records using MEDITECH EHR
• Foster a supportive, patient-centered environment for both patients and colleagues
