Retail Protein Sales Specialist

This position is in Cargill's protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. Job Purpose and Impact The Retail Protein Sales Specialist will sell a portfolio of beef and plant-based products, services, and solutions directly to current and new customers. We seek a results-oriented professional with a thorough understanding of business and motivated to address the needs and challenges for assigned accounts. This role is a home office position that requires a candidate to be located in NC, SC, GA, or AL. This position will cover the Southeast US Region: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida & Virginia 40% travel is required to cover the area of responsibility. Key Accountabilities Develop a plan to establish and maintain account relationships and meet personal sales targets. Resolve problems and ensure customers receive high-quality service. Inform customers of our new products, services, and prices. Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions. Develop business plans, preparing strategies to protect, grow and diversify relationships with targeted customers. Contribute to developing and delivering sales bids, proposals, presentations and conduct product demonstrations Comfortable leading business discussions with internal and external stakeholders Manage broker network: establish goals, monitor and scorecard performance results. Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff. Other duties as assigned. #LI-FA1 Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience. Minimum four years of related work experience. Ability to travel up to 40%. Valid driver's license in good standing. Knowledge of the meat industry with retail customers. Motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication. Preferred Qualifications History of effectively utilizing category management data (Nielsen, IRI) in sales presentations. Minimum five years of experience in the Retail channel. Previous Retail customer account management experience. Familiarity with retailers in the southeast US region. Customer relationship management software experience (Salesforce). Previous experience with distributors in the region. Beef or protein experience. Work experience with a major U.S. processor or retail grocery chain.
