ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina ICU nursing jobs)
• Facility: A leading hospital in Asheville, NC – Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (NTICU)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Size: 20 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 (may be 1:3 during staffing challenges)
• Scrub Color: Navy blue or navy/white combination
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1750-$1800

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (trauma ICU or surgical ICU preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• Strong teamwork, clinical, and communication skills
• Experience with ICU equipment: Camino ICP, CRRT, EVD, wound vacs, arterial/CVC lines
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience with Cerner preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses) certifications a plus

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the NTICU
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress in the EMR system
• Assist with and perform procedures: central line, chest tube, arterial line insertions, percutaneous tracheostomies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float to other critical care units as needed: MICU, NSICU, CICU, CVICU, K7 PCU, G7 PCU, 4H CVPC
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
