Travel Nursing Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1700 - $1750
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel RN contract)
• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103 – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Unit: 4th General Med Surg - Electronic
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Duration: 18 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Floating to similar units as needed
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (up to 1:7 during critical staffing)
• Scrubs: Navy and/or White

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required at time of start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• IV Start and Telemetry skills
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travel nurses welcome!
• Preferred: ACLS and NIHSS certifications

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using EPIC electronic health records
• Initiate IVs and manage telemetry monitoring for cardiac patients
• Administer medications and blood products as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more
• Float to similar Med/Surg units as needed based on census and skill set
• Participate in rapid response and adhere to all hospital safety protocols
• Maintain compliance with infection control and isolation precautions
• Engage in self-scheduling and participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical training
