Sr Manager, Customer Development
- Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Oversee end to end process in conjunction with Walmart buying and planning teams from product sell-in to shipment and end of season exit. Manage team of analysts to drive weekly replenishment and balance sheet consumption for seasonal commits as well as identifying upside chase opportunity and/or risks. Walmart business vendor managed and entrepreneurial in nature.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with internal partners in product development, marketing, supply chain/logistics, sourcing, retail and customer service as well as finance to align strategies and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Oversee NCAA exclusive partnerships: Intentional and regular review of NCAA exclusive schools’ business to ensure hitting deliverables. This includes inventory consumption to commits, POS analysis as well as store level productivity thresholds and traiting. Additionally, an awareness of key events calendar and upside chase opportunities to support (color outs, homecoming, parents weekend, etc.)
- Customer Collaboration and Forecast Alignment: Develop and maintain strong relationships with Walmart buying and planning teams to align product development, sales forecasts and inventory needs.
- Data and Analytics: Exhibit strong knowledge of Walmart’s data sources and develop team of analysts to perform analysis including sales, inventory, margin and productivity to identify and drive business building opportunities, ensuring right product in right stores at the right time for a positive consumer experience. Opportunity to enhance weekly replenishment process as well as take leadership role in launching sports apparel category on Walmart’s replenishment system.
- Understand Market Trends and Competitive Landscape: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Walmart to understand market trends and competitive landscape to bring to market compelling assortments that meet consumer needs in the channel.
- Financial Budget: In conjunction with Director of Sales, develop and maintain annual financial plans for assigned categories delivering growth and profit.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 8+ years sales, retail buying, or marketing experience in the apparel industry and/or CPG experience.
- Proven experience in sales, account management, business development or retailer buying and planning background
- Walmart Retail Link and Scintilla experience preferred
- Strong financial acumen and analytical mindset; deep understanding of retail math and scorecard drivers, be able to manage detailed analytics and large data sets
- Strong Excel skills, specifically v-lookups and pivot tables
- Strong presentation skills with ability to take data/insights and tell a compelling sales story
- Proven ability as a “thinker”, a “strategist” and a “problem solver”
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Curiosity and interest in licensed sports
- Periodic Travel Required
