Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation required with holiday rotation
• Patient ratio of up to 6 patients on days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to 2A overflow unit for MS Tele assignments
• Subject to float between all healthcare facilities within the system
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (first time travelers accepted)
• Epic charting system experience required
• BLS certification required, ACLS and NIH stroke scale preferred
• Med Surg Telemetry and Telemetry experience required
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Care for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Administer IV medication drips including Heparin and TNA
• Manage patients with various diagnoses including respiratory illness, post-op surgery patients, orthopedics, CHF, diabetes, renal failure, and stable COVID patients
• Work with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Full compliance file required by 12 noon EST Wednesday prior to start date
• Must be flexible with scheduling and available to complete compliance on time

This healthcare facility operates a 41-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 34 patients. The facility provides comprehensive care for adults and geriatric patients, offering specialized services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation support. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires all nursing staff to demonstrate competency in telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation.
