PrideStaff is actively seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Industrial Controls Panel Technician for a leading manufacturing organization. This is a crucial role focused on the high-precision assembly and functional testing of electrical control cabinets and complex mechanical sub-assemblies, including hydraulic and pneumatic panels.
We are looking for a reliable problem-solver with proven technical experience in electrical panel building who is eager to cross-train in industrial fluid power systems.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
- Competitive Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour , based on experience and technical proficiency.
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Training schedule). Flexible hours (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) available upon successful training completion.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all technical assembly, quality assurance, and administrative tasks related to equipment fabrication, ensuring builds meet the highest standards of quality and are completed on schedule.
Technical Assembly & Wiring
- Precision Fabrication: Build and wire industrial control cabinets, junction boxes, and sub-assemblies from the ground up, following complex electrical schematics and detailed Bills of Material (BOMs) .
- Component Mounting: Accurately mount, install, and wire electrical components (PLCs, relays, contactors, VFDs, terminal blocks) and mechanical components (valves, pumps, gauges) according to layout drawings.
- Cable Management: Execute professional and neat wire routing, bundling, and labeling across all panels, adhering to industry best practices and NEC standards.
Testing, Troubleshooting & Documentation
- Functional Testing: Conduct Point-to-Point (P2P) and initial functional testing of completed panels to identify and resolve wiring errors, component malfunctions, and design flaws.
- Redlining: Maintain precise documentation by creating "redline" mark-ups on schematics for all changes made during the fabrication process.
- Quality Control: Perform final quality inspections on all completed orders to ensure 100% accuracy and functionality before shipment.
Shop Operations & Support
- Coordinate with Sales and Operations teams to maintain production flow and meet strict client delivery schedules.
- Maintain and calibrate all personal and shop tools; manage shop supplies and inventory.
- Engage in cross-training to master the assembly of hydraulic and pneumatic manifold panels and circuits.
Required Qualifications & Skills
To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong foundational skill set in industrial assembly.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Electrical Control Panel Assembly is required.
- Experience with fluid power (Hydraulics/Pneumatics) is a significant advantage.
- Technical Proficiency: Absolute proficiency in reading, interpreting, and working directly from technical electrical schematics, wire diagrams, and BOMs .
- Tool Skills: Expert ability to use standard hand and power tools for metalworking, cutting, crimping, and precision assembly; accurate tape measure reading is mandatory.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of safely lifting 50 lbs and meeting the physical demands of standing, kneeling, and assembling large units throughout the workday.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in using computers (MS Office) is required; experience with ERP systems or scheduling software is a plus.
