Application Support Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer for a Contract position with a client in Charlotte, NC . The ideal candidate will combine strong hands‑on technical skills with architectural leadership and integration governance experience across SAP and non‑SAP environments.

Rate Range: $65/hour to $69/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Application Support Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Lead the design and implementation of event‑driven and API‑led integration architectures using SAP BTP Integration Suite.

• Serve as the SME for SAP Advanced Event Mesh (AEM), including queues, topics, subscriptions, and event flows.

• Design, implement, and optimize integrations using SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) between SAP and non‑SAP systems.

• Define asynchronous integration patterns using messaging platforms such as Solace and MQ.

• Design and manage REST APIs, supporting synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns.

• Develop and support event consumers and integration services using Java, Node.js, and Spring Boot.

• Apply best practices for JSON and XML message structures and transformation.

• Provide architectural oversight, integration governance, and solution guidance across multiple teams.

• Troubleshoot complex integration issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Qualifications:

• Expert‑level experience with SAP Advanced Event Mesh (P4 level) .

• Strong hands‑on integration development and architecture experience in SAP BTP.

• Proven experience designing event‑driven and API‑centric enterprise integrations.

• Ability to lead solution design, mentor teams, and influence architectural decisions.

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

• Comfortable working independently while collaborating across Agile teams.

Core Technical Skills (Must‑Have):

• SAP BTP

• SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI)

• SAP Advanced Event Mesh (AEM) – queues, topics, subscriptions

• Event‑driven architecture concepts

• Messaging systems (Solace, MQ)

• REST APIs and asynchronous integration patterns

• JSON and XML

Pay Details: $65.00 to $69.00 per hour
