Maintenance Tech
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Beach Retreats offers a collection of unique, independent properties in Ocracoke Island, Nags Head, and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. The properties range from inns and B&Bs to villas, beach bungalows and motels. Each property is highly individual and enables guests to experience each destination on their own terms. Each Beach Retreats location has a designated innkeeper or site manager, who will be your on-site contact ensuring your vacation is relaxing and memorable. While our office hours vary by location and time of year, all properties also provide an emergency contact number for any after-hours needs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Maintenance Technician at Beach Retreats, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our vacation homes are well-maintained and provide a welcoming environment for our guests. Your eye for detail, ability to troubleshoot and repair various issues, and strong work ethic will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service. You will collaborate closely with your team members and management to address maintenance needs promptly and efficiently , while also contributing to the overall upkeep of the properties. You will also coordinate and collaborate with third-party service providers, attend team meetings, and be open to other responsibilities as assigned - because every day looks different!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete maintenance tasks and projects, traveling between multiple worksites each day.
- Heavy work-Exerting up to up to 50-100 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Respond to guest issue regarding maintenance, as needed including but not limited to:
- Appliance troubleshooting
- Cable/Wifi troubleshooting
- Basic HVAC repair
- Light plumbing
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Paint, clean, and troubleshoot repairs inside homes.
- Drywall, and basic carpentry skills.
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members and management team and assist the team when necessary.
- Assist with ground maintenance and upkeep.
- Handle on-call responsibilities for after hour's emergencies on a rotating basis
- Ensure follow through on assigned maintenance tasks using in-house assignment system and respond to time-sensitive maintenance needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
- Reliable, ability to meet deadlines, and a team player.
- The ability to follow-up and follow through with assigned tasks, seeing projects through to completion
- Self-motivated and customer service oriented.
- Ability to regularly lift over 20 lbs.
- Applicants must have reliable transportation.
- Applicants must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
- All applicants will be required to a background screening.
- Applicants must be willing and able to work overtime for emergency calls which may include weekends, holidays and after hours.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Hourly Rate: $16 - $18

Schedule
- Must be able to work nights, holidays and weekends depending on season and occupancy levels.
