- Oversee daily equipment condition and readiness, ensuring inspections, greasing, and preventative maintenance activities are completed to standard.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel and external contractors to support predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and permits, supporting audits, inspections, and documentation as directed.
- Supervise, train, and develop production employees, including onboarding new team members and delivering hands-on instruction in safety, equipment operation, and composting fundamentals.
- Partner with the Director of Plant Operations to coach and develop Shift Leads, using performance outcomes and engagement as key success indicators.
- Manage shift schedules and personnel assignments to ensure adequate coverage for production needs, vacations, and extended absences.
- Act as the facility point of contact for product quality, inventory status, and material or amendment needs.
- Promote organization, visual management, and efficient workflow across the facility, identifying improvement opportunities and sharing recommendations with the Director of Plant Operations.
- Support cost control efforts at the site level and operate with awareness of expense management and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to eight years of progressive experience in plant, production, or operations leadership, preferably in composting, manufacturing, agriculture, or waste-related industries.
- Strong working knowledge of equipment operations, safety protocols, and production workflows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and WasteWorks or similar operational systems.
- Valid Driver's License.
