Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Glassmaking is seeking a motivated person to lead safety for the Core & Blank Making Departments.
Key Responsibilities:
The Glassmaking Safety Coordinator will oversee all safety responsibilities, including:
• Continue to develop a culture of safety in the department.
• Deliver Glassmaking Safety Fundamentals training to all new Glassmaking employees.
• Organize & Lead Core & Blank Making safety meetings.
• Participate in Department Safety Audits.
• Lead all Glass Making safety initiatives and help drive to closure.
• Lead all area JSA’s. • Enter SARs data for Glass Making personnel and cash out SARs points.
• Review all Glassmaking Safety Good Catches
• Help lead incident investigations in the glassmaking area and record all details in Gensuite.
• Be a part of the Ergonomic team and perform assessments.
• Provide support to team members to complete iKaizens.
• Maintain and Report periodically on the Glass Making Safety Metrics.
Required Skills:
• At least one year experience in the Core or Blank Making Dept.
• Must be certified in your current role.
• Must have no active discipline.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities while working in an irregular work environment with changing priorities and multiple tasks.
• Must have the ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
• Devoted to plant safety culture and looks for ways to make the department a safer place to work.
• Strong problem-solving skills that drill down to the root cause of an issue.
Shift – 8 Hour days M - F
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $22.00 hourly rate - $25.25 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
