Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse - Goldsboro, NC

Location: Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, 1200 Wright Brothers Ave Goldsboro, NC 27531

Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8Hrs Shift in between 0630 to 1730

• Education:

• Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program approved by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory.
• Program must be accredited by a state board of nursing or an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

• Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of practical/vocational nursing experience within the past three (3) years in a clinical setting.
  • Prior experience providing care to active-duty military or in a federal healthcare environment is desirable.
• License/Certification: Current, unrestricted, valid license to practice as an LPN/LVN in any U.S. state or territory; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

• Provide patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, and other medical personnel in accordance with Air Force and DHA policies.
• Measure and document vital signs, administer oral and injectable medications, and assist in minor clinical procedures.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, etc.), perform point-of-care testing, and prepare patients for examinations or treatments.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring timely and complete charting.
• Participate in health education and wellness promotion efforts in collaboration with care teams.
• Support intake and discharge processes by gathering relevant patient histories, verifying medications, and ensuring compliance with pre/post-care instructions.
• Report abnormal findings or concerns to the supervising RN or provider in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment, including infection control practices.
• Engage in team meetings, briefings, drills, and other workplace readiness activities as required by the military treatment facility (MTF).
