Electrification & Automation

The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future.

We are looking for a Mechanical Assembler for our Emobility team located in Knightdale, NC.

1st Shift hours: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

As a Mechanical Assembler you will be responsible for the building, assembling, and wiring of Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as LV Motor Control Centers, MV breakers, switchgear and Motor Control Centers.

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will:

• Assemble and wire structures, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket parts orders, including mechanical assembly of steel, components, control wiring, and power cables.
• Read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings, and perform basic wiring as instructed.
• Record appropriate job transactions and ensure proper use of torque wrenches.
• Adhere to established processes, methods, and seek opportunities for improvement.
• Follow all safety rules and prioritize safety for self and others.
• Work as a strong team player and perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be able to lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Communicate in English (read, write & speak fluently)
• Must have a proven record in Quality and Productivity
• Conform with Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policy and Management System and strive to continual improve the intended outcomes of the Management System.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer - sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience performing mechanical assembly or experience in the mechanical field
• Forklift driver experience
• SAP experience
• Able to Identify mechanical parts and electrical components
• Experience working with standard hand and power tools, both pneumatic and battery operated
• Knowledge of torque wrench and applied torque values
• Experience with using a tape measure and other measuring devices
