CV Sonographer Dual Registered Outpatient II
- Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols with good diagnostic quality.
- Analyzes test data and accurately communicates findings to reading cardiologists to aid in proper diagnosis and treatment planning and ensure seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists.
- Operates, troubleshoots, and requests repair of all testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results and promote patient safety and efficient workflow.
- Maintains professional and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and ensure readiness to respond to any cardiac emergencies that may arise.
- Performs IV insertion and maintains IV competency skills on an annual basis.
- Administers image enhancing agent as ordered to optimize quality of echocardiogram.
- Must complete 4 advanced activities as outlined by departmental career ladder.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 3 years of experience in each registry
- Required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT-VS) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider. Meets 4 of the career ladder requirements as outlined by the departmental career ladder document.
