Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (28204) – Top destination for North Carolina nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (Delivery Room)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Orientation: 24 hours (scrubs provided)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700–$1750

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required for Charlotte healthcare jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (3 years preferred)
• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery settings strongly preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Clinical skills: Circulate for C-section, sterile vaginal exams, immediate newborn care, triage of obstetrical patients, pain assessment & management, start & maintain peripheral IVs, telemetry interpretation
• Ability to float to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed
• First-time travel nurses accepted if experienced in similar clinical settings

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care to obstetrical patients (16 weeks gestation and greater, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients)
• Manage laboring patients, perform assessments, and assist with deliveries (average 20 births per 24 hours)
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Perform triage and routine outpatient procedures (antenatal fetal surveillance, IV hydration, medication administration)
• Provide immediate newborn care and family support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Float to other nursing units as required based on census and skill set
