The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, energetic, and passionate about helping children learn and grow.
- Supervise and care for children throughout the day to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Create and maintain a warm, positive, and structured classroom environment.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, lessons, crafts, music, movement, and play.
- Support children with daily routines including meals, naps, bathroom breaks, diapering, and handwashing.
- Encourage positive behavior, sharing, independence, and respectful interactions.
- Monitor children’s development and communicate any concerns to the director or leadership team.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards.
- Follow all state licensing rules, childcare center policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians about their child’s day, progress, and needs.
- Complete daily reports, attendance records, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Work as part of a team with other teachers, assistants, directors, and staff.
- Ensure children are actively supervised at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Help prepare and clean up meals, snacks, classroom materials, and activity areas.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to injuries, emergencies, or behavioral situations.
- Promote a fun, loving, and respectful environment where children feel safe and valued.
