Position Description:

• The candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Facilities Department. The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities support equipment
• Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on facilities management.
• Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad.
• Work with the technical staff to resolve daily issues.
• Support the commissioning of new equipment for production.
• Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems.
• Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or a member of management.

Education Required:

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience
• Minimum three years experience

Experience Required:

• Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, promptly

Preferred:

• Experience in fiber optic manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience with Chiller maintenance and optimization.
• Experience with pollution control equipment (Baghouse, Scrubber, etc…).
• Experience with Compressor maintenance and optimization.
• Experience with high-purity piping and gas delivery systems.
• Experience with fire detection equipment.
• Experience with power distribution systems and UPS systems.
