Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and experience managing a team.

Essential Functions

• Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.


• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions.


• Manage the monthly and annual closing process, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.


• Work with finance and accounting management to ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.


• Implement and maintain accounting policies and develop, implement and maintain up-to-date procedures that meet the needs of the organization.


• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders.


• Manage and develop the local accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.


• Assists with processing payroll as needed.


• Works with finance and accounting management to complete annual financial audit.


• Assists with other duties and projects as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.


• CPA or Charter Accountant certification preferred.


• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.


• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.


• Experience with NetSuite.


• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.


• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to deal with multiple customers, vendors, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience acting as a team lead or directly managing an accounting team.


• Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees in accordance with provincial, state, and federal requirements.
