We have an exciting remote opportunity for students to participate in an eight-week internship at the International Corporate Headquarters (ICHQ) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.!This is a great opportunity for you to learn professional skills in business across various departments, build your resume, and get real-world experience in a professional setting.
As the Special Projects & Initiatives Coordinator intern, you will support a variety of high-impact programs, operational functions, and strategic initiatives for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. This role offers hands-on experience in program coordination, operations management, and event planning. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both grant-related initiatives and retail/event operations, with assignments tailored to organizational priorities and individual strengths. Qualified candidates must be able to work independently, have interpersonal skills, and be a team player.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Program & Funding Development
- Coordinate the launch and execution of the GHWIN Year 5 Chapter Mini-Grant Program, including communication with chapters, application review, and approvals.
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and timely fund disbursement.
- Serve as a point of contact for grant-related inquiries.
- Research and identify funding opportunities; collaborate with the grant writer on proposals.
- Maintain organized records, timelines, and reporting for all grant activities.
Sigma Store Operations & Vendor Support
- Support daily store operations, including returns, audits, and reporting.
- Manage vendor communications and inquiries.
- Conduct in-person operational reviews at the fulfillment center.
- Assist with planning and executing the Sigma Store pop-up and vendor room at the 61st Boule.
- Support branding updates and related marketing initiatives.
Internship Exposure

Dates & Logistics
- Duration: September 29th - November 21st
- Hours: Tuesday Thursday (Flexible based on course load)
- Format: Remote with occasional in-person activities
Break: 30-minute lunch daily

- Stipend of $1,620 (total) paid bi-weekly

Candidate Criteria & Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in college with a major or minor in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Communications
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
- Capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and reliability
Experience or interest in nonprofit programs, grants management, retail operations, or event coordination preferred.
