Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Location: Pinehurst, NC 28374 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (19 beds)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2-3
• Floating: Required to postpartum/mother baby unit
• Orientation: 16.8 hours (pre-start modules required)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070 - $2,120

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted)
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Strong clinical skills in labor and delivery, including newborn transition
• Competency in second stage management, vaginal exams, and triage
• First-time travel nurses welcome!
• Must not reside in Moore County, NC

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver expert care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Perform vaginal exams, manage second stage of labor, and assist with deliveries
• Transition newborns and provide immediate post-delivery care
• Float to postpartum/mother baby unit as needed
• Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Support breastfeeding and provide discharge education to families
• Utilize Epic for accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in rapid response teams
