Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2520 - $2580 per week

PCU RN Job Details – Albany, NY

• Location: Albany, NY 12208 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Job Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: November 14, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 per week
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• EMR System: Epic
• Weekend block schedule may be considered

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• At least 1 year of recent PCU or adult ICU nursing experience
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in advanced hemodynamics, pressor titration, and care of medical/surgical patients
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Ability to pass a nursing competency test within 24 hours of submission
• Strong infection prevention and control knowledge

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver care to high acuity patients, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, and complex trauma
• Manage advanced therapies: antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines, CVP, EVD, and orthopedic traction
• Utilize high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPap/CPAP, and oxypendent devices
• Implement and follow infection prevention protocols
• Maintain an average patient load of 3 high acuity patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
