Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Our growing RTP office is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary MEP team. This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, collaborating across disciplines, and serving as a key contributor on a variety of building system projects.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a technical resource for electrical system design, including:
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting systems
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Telecommunications infrastructure
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects for institutional, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Lead electrical design efforts and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
• Perform design calculations, system evaluations, and engineering assessments.
• Deliver high-quality engineering solutions while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices.
• Support business development efforts and help strengthen client relationships.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain through reciprocity
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Experience designing building electrical systems
• Proficiency with CAD and/or Revit
• Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated professional with a passion for technical excellence

Additional Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments
• Interest in data-driven decision-making and performance metrics
• Creative approach to problem-solving and client engagement

This is a Permanent position based out of Durham, NC.

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $200000.00/yr.

Full HC Benefits, BC/BS, 401k match, PTO, EOY Bonus, etc.

This is a hybrid position in Durham,NC.

This position is anticipated to close on Aug 12, 2026.
