Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) Telemetry & Stroke (Neuro) Care
• Location: Burlington, NC 27215 – North Carolina healthcare opportunity
• Facility Setting: Inpatient department serving a diverse adult and geriatric patient population, including specialized stroke care
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/7/2025 – End: 1/6/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required as needed
• Floating: Required between all Cone Health facilities
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820-$1870

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a U.S. healthcare setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system
• Telemetry remote monitoring experience required; on-unit monitoring preferred
• Skilled in feeding tube care/management, port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Experience with stroke (CVA), nasal cannula, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac therapy
• Ability to pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Education verification through third party required
• No open background check cases; license in hand at submission
• Not accepting local candidates within 50 miles of Burlington, NC

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with multiple co-morbidities, including specialized stroke (neuro) cases
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients using both remote and on-unit systems
• Perform feeding tube care, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Administer blood products and manage ports
• Implement isolation precautions and provide wound care/wound vac therapy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, and pharmacy
• Float to other units and Cone Health facilities as required
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in orientation and required training modules
