Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1620-$1660
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Labor and Delivery (16 beds)
• Scrub Attire: Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Immediate newborn care skills
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS/ALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Experience with Baxter Pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Fetal ink systems

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert clinical care to laboring patients and immediate newborns
• Assist and circulate for vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy procedures
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and fellow RNs
• Float to related units as needed (MFMU, MOMB, NICU)
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR
• Demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
