PACU RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, North Carolina (28801) – Top destination for North Carolina nursing jobs
• Facility: Nationally recognized hospital, Magnet-designated
• Unit: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), 40 beds
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour days)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,640 - $1,680
• Scheduling: 6-week schedules; 3 call shifts required per 6-week period
• Floating: May float within peri-anesthesia (Endoscopy, PreOp, Phase II)
• Dress Code: Surgical green or navy scrubs

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale experience
• Trauma and pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with ventilator monitoring
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation system preferred

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional post-anesthesia care to adult, trauma, and pediatric patients
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, techs, and unit secretaries
• Perform advanced nursing procedures: ventilator monitoring, lab draws, catheterizations
• Float as needed within peri-anesthesia units (Endoscopy, PreOp, Phase II)
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner
• Participate in scheduled call shifts
