Description

JFL Consulting, LLC is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to develop and optimize data processing and handling, machine learning models, build scalable infrastructure for AI/ML workflows, and automate processes for efficient model deployment. This role combines hands-on development of AI/ML models with cloud orchestration and data management, utilizing technologies such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and NVIDIA GPU acceleration. Responsibilities

AI/ML Model Development & Optimization

• Design and develop high-performance machine learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, and ONNX.
• Apply advanced AI/ML techniques (supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning) to solve complex business and cybersecurity problems.
• Enhance model performance using GPU acceleration with NVIDIA libraries like CUDA and TensorRT.

AI/ML Infrastructure Engineering

• Architect and implement scalable AI/ML workflows using Kubernetes, Kubeflow, and MLFlow for deployment and orchestration.
• Automate the deployment and scaling of AI/ML models using Python, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Manage and optimize containerized environments (Docker) for continuous integration and delivery.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Develop efficient pre- and post-processing pipelines to prepare and optimize data for machine learning applications.
• Create and manage data storage strategies, ensuring efficient retrieval and load-sharing across large-scale AI/ML deployments.
• Utilize the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for data visualization and model performance monitoring.

Security & Compliance

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to apply knowledge of network traffic and attack vectors, ensuring secure deployment of AI/ML systems.
• Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and other cybersecurity frameworks in AI/ML operations.

Documentation & Technical Communication

• Develop detailed documentation for machine learning models, workflows, and infrastructure configurations.
• Communicate AI/ML project status, risks, and technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with hands-on experience developing and deploying models.
• Experience fine-tuning and deploying large language models (LLMs) such as Llama or Mixtral in production and air-gapped environments, with focus on optimization, integration, and secure operations.
• Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, ONNX) for model development and optimization.
• Expertise with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, and MLFlow.
• Experience leveraging NVIDIA GPU acceleration libraries (CUDA, TensorRT).

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, C/C++, and shell scripting for AI/ML system automation.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and data processing techniques.
• Expertise in data storage management and transformation strategies for AI/ML workflows.
• Familiarity with network traffic patterns and attack vectors for secure system deployment.

Communication

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex AI/ML concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification or equivalent highly desired.
• Advanced certifications in AI/ML (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty, TensorFlow Certification).
• Experience with cloud platforms for machine learning (AWS, Azure, GCP).
