Security Officer (PRN) - The Reserve at Mills Farm
We are looking for a competent Security Officer to undertake the surveillance of our community and protection of our residents, team members and their families. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the community in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping it safe and problem-free.
This is a PRN opportunity to work with a great team! Hours will be 8pm-8am.

Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possess
- Maintains confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA
- Demonstrates a positive working relationship with residents, family members and staff.
- Promotes and protects residents rights and treats residents with dignity and respect.
- Attends in-service and education programs and obtains continuing education required for certification. Demonstrates the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Maintains professional appearance by adherence to community dress code.
- Operates equipment in a safe manner and the only equipment utilized is that which previous training of use has occurred.
- Safety precautions and practices are utilized with all activities.
- Follows OSHA and fire safety guidelines and regulations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Monitors and is familiar with all emergency and safety equipment including security cameras, phones, and life safety systems.
- Secures all areas of the building, checking for open doors and any unusual activity.
- Conducts regularly scheduled rounds in and around the building
- Responds to emergencies according to Navion Senior Solutions policies
- Informs supervisor of any resident issues or concerns
- Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
Requirements
- NC Driver License
- Familiarity with report writing.
- Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense a plus.
- High School diploma is required.
- Computer skills
- Ability to review camera footage.
- Knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to effectively follow written and oral instructions.
