Kauffman Stairs is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Stair Technician to join our team and we are looking to have a start date of October 1. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and longevity of our stair installations through repairs, maintenance, and warranty support. You will also act as a primary point of contact with builders to coordinate scheduling and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair any damage to handrails, stairs, or components that occur after installation (billable to the builder).

• Address squeaks, loose components, or missing parts such as balusters, nosing, basecaps, and other stair elements.

• Manage homeowner warranty requests and submit EPO requests to builders as necessary.

• Perform occasional shop work to support stair repairs and fabrication.

• Maintain and operate a company vehicle equipped with tools; responsible for scheduling regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.).

• Keep detailed daily logs of all activity, including warranty and repair work, both billable and non-billable; submit reports biweekly to Corporate (Attn: Barb Simon).

• Submit and track all EPOs for payment.

• Monitor builder warranty programs and email communications to stay updated on upcoming projects.

• Communicate directly with builders to schedule repairs, coordinate job progress, and track stages of construction as needed.

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to operate and maintain company vehicles and tools safely.

• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
