ER RN Job Details – Elkader, IA

• Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Elkader, Iowa 52043 (Emergency Department)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/14/2025)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (5:45 PM – 6:15 AM)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000 - $2050

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Compliance requirements to be completed during onboarding:
  • Personal health history and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza, 2 Step PPD or IGRA)
  • Physical/Health Statement
  • Background check and education verification
  • Skills checklist and specialty-specific competency testing
  • Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Room
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients with acute medical conditions and trauma
• Administer medications, treatments, and life-saving interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Accurately document patient care and clinical findings in the EMR
• Respond rapidly to emergency situations and deliver advanced clinical support
