• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Locum Tenens Travel Nurse
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Maternal Fetal Medicine, 10-bed unit
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, Travel RN
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
• Scrubs: Provided
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1620 - $1660

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (required)
• High-risk L&D experience preferred
• Immediate newborn care experience
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• BLS/ALS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
• Experience with Cerner and FetaLink EMR systems preferred
• Strong communication skills; outgoing, friendly, and adaptable personality

L&D RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using advanced electronic fetal monitoring equipment
• Assist with and circulate during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst procedures
• Deliver immediate newborn care and support high-risk deliveries
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float as needed to Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU units
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and FetaLink EMR systems
• Uphold hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
