ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
• Position Type: Travel ICU RN
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), alternating weekends
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1750-$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Proficient in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, paralytics, ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation
• Strong understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup/interpretation
• Experience with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE, chest tube insertion and maintenance
• CCRN certification preferred (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
• Advanced ICU skills such as IABP, Impella, and CRRT highly desirable
• Ability to float to all ICU areas as needed
• Compliance with dress code: navy or navy and white scrubs

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to patients in a 16-bed CICU
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data
• Administer and titrate critical medications, including pressors and sedatives
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced ICU equipment (ventilators, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, hypothermia devices)
• Assist with and perform procedures: cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care and interventions accurately using Cerner EMR
• Provide patient and family education as needed
