This short-term Data Entry I position focuses on accurately verifying and inputting data using a keyboard and computer-based systems. The role involves maintaining precise documentation, managing personal tasks and deadlines, and supporting order entry and inventory-related data activities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid documentation skills, and effective time management while working independently in a lab office environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate data entry devices such as a keyboard and computer to verify, input, and update data accurately.
- Perform order entry tasks, ensuring all information is complete, correct, and properly recorded in the system.
- Enter and maintain inventory-related data to support accurate tracking and reporting.
- Review, verify, and cross-check data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before final submission.
- Maintain clear and organized documentation of all data entry activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Manage personal workload and deadlines effectively to complete assigned tasks within required timeframes.
- Work independently to prioritize tasks and resolve basic data entry issues as they arise.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to support data entry, documentation, and reporting needs.
- Follow established lab office procedures and guidelines to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed to clarify data requirements and resolve discrepancies.
- Proficiency in data entry with the ability to accurately input and verify information using a keyboard and computer.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of all entered data.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned tasks.
- Typing skills sufficient to perform high-volume and timely data entry.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including using them for documentation and data-related tasks.
- High school diploma (HS diploma) or equivalent education.
- Effective time management skills to handle personal project management and meet deadlines.
- Solid documentation skills to record and maintain clear and accurate records.
- Experience performing order entry tasks in an office or lab environment.
- Familiarity with inventory data processes and documentation.
- Comfort working with various data sources and formats.
- Ability to follow established procedures and adapt to changing priorities in a short-term assignment.
This role is based in a lab office setting that involves working primarily at a computer workstation for extended periods to perform data entry and documentation tasks. The position follows an early-morning shift schedule from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, with work performed in a structured office environment within the lab. The workday centers on focused, independent tasks that require concentration and accuracy while adhering to established office and lab procedures.

This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.
