Overview: Responsible for receiving and co-ordinates all incoming customer calls to the Pathology Laboratories for all WakeMed facilities. Monitors and assists with maintaining proper function of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS). Reports critical and urgent laboratory results to nurses and physicians within designated time frames, disseminates laboratory reports to customers, and provides problem resolutions for customers. Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls for Anatomic Pathology and Raleigh Pathology Laboratory Associates. Performs clerical duties related to the maintenance of electronic and/or paper filing systems, retrieves requested patient data or reports from LIS/HIS or other computer systems, coordinates and documents receipt of requests for anatomic pathology, and sends out requests and/or materials and monitoring of selected supplies.
