PCU RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800-$1840
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Unit: Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC)
• Job Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: At least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• No on-call required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown and telemetry nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Experience with cardiac and vascular surgery patients (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) preferred
• CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience is a plus
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and clinical skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries
• Monitor and manage telemetry and stepdown patients in the progressive care unit
• Assist with procedures including epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV Glucommander
• Administer and titrate cardiac gtt medications (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
• Float to other stepdown, med-surg, or ER inpatient holding areas as needed
• Comply with hospital policies and dress code (navy or white scrubs)
