THE ROLE

Chetola Resort is seeking a skilled and motivated Banquet Line Cook to join our newly reimagined culinary team supporting Timberlake’s Restaurant and the resort’s banquet and event operations. This role is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes for weddings, corporate events, and special functions, ensuring each event reflects Chetola’s elevated culinary standards. WHAT YOU’LL DO

Banquet Culinary Execution

  • Prepare and cook banquet menu items according to standardized recipes and event requirements
  • Execute dishes consistently and efficiently during high-volume banquet service
  • Ensure proper seasoning, portioning, and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet prep and service stations
  • Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients following food safety and sanitation standards

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Banquet Sous Chef, and culinary team to support smooth event execution
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams to coordinate timing and service flow
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude during fast-paced banquet service
  • Support teammates to ensure the overall success of each event

Kitchen & Equipment Care

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly including grills, fryers, ovens, and steamers
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked workstations
  • Follow all health department, sanitation, and food safety requirements

  • Recipe accuracy: Ingredients, measurements, and preparation methods followed exactly to maintain consistency
  • Plating consistency: Every dish leaving the kitchen reflects proper portioning, temperature, and presentation
  • Station readiness: Prep completed, ingredients organized, and equipment ready before service begins
  • Service timing: Courses prepared and fired in coordination with banquet service flow
  • Kitchen cleanliness: Workstations maintained with clean surfaces, labeled ingredients, and proper food storage
  • Quality control: Careful attention to taste, seasoning, and presentation to ensure every guest receives the same exceptional experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen; banquet or high-volume experience preferred.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience a plus, but not required.
  • Current ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
