Staff Accountant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Maintenance:
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  • Process and monitor accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing clients, tracking outstanding payments, and following up on overdue balances.
• Month-End and Year-End Closing:
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and schedules for internal and external use.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for management, identifying trends, variances, and key financial metrics.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Tax Compliance & Filings:
  • Assist with tax filings and compliance, including sales tax, income tax, and other local or federal tax requirements.
  • Prepare necessary reports for auditors and assist with audits as needed.
• Internal Controls:
  • Ensure proper internal controls are followed in all accounting activities.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Other Duties:
  • Perform other ad-hoc financial and accounting tasks as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite (preferred).
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred:
  • CPA or pursuing CPA certification is a plus.
  • Experience with financial reporting or public accounting a plus.

Salary range $63K - 68.5K dependent upon experience
