Overview:

The New River YMCA is seeking dedicated and qualified Child Care Teachers to join our early learning team. This role is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for early childhood education and demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and a commitment to fostering the growth and development of each child.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that align with the YMCA’s curriculum and educational standards.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following established health, safety, and supervision protocols.
  • Establish and maintain open and professional communication with families, providing updates on children’s progress and development.
  • Collaborate effectively with co-teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental assessments.
  • Uphold all YMCA policies and state licensing regulations to ensure compliance with childcare standards.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Experience: Prior experience working in an early childhood education setting preferred.
  • Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, actively engage with children, and maintain energy throughout the workday.

Posted Salary Range: USD $12.50 - USD $14.00 /Hr.
