Senior Mechanical Engineer - Advanced Power Generation
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Design mechanical systems supporting Conventional and Renewable Power Generation
- Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad
- Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility
- Function in a senior-level engineer capacity which includes:
- Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership
- Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members on complex projects
- Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Understand, manage, and adhere to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements
As a Systems Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a member of our Mechanical Engineering Department, which is housed within our BV Operations team. As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. Preferred Qualifications Desired experience for this position includes expertise in the following areas:
- Simple and Combined Cycle plant design
- Condensate and Feedwater systems
- P&ID development
- Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Natural, and/or CO2 gas supply system
- Cooling water, including closed cycle systems
- High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure / Low / Auxiliary Steam system
- Instrument and/or Service Air Systems
- Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems
- Service and Potable water supply system
- Performing calculations such as pipe sizing calculations, pipe thickness calculations, pump sizing calculation, control valve sizing calculations, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing etc.
Professional Engineer (PE) license Work Environment/Schedule
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
- This opportunity will be based out of our World Headquarters office in Overland Park, KS.
