Lab Assistant - Winston Salem, NC

The primary responsibilities of the Lab Assistant are: to be responsible for providing administrative support (such as intake, Quality Assurance, communication, and charge entry), for the pathology lab.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Intake and processing of specimens.
- Input data into Electronic Medical Records Nextech.
- Log incoming slides and prepares slides for physician.
- Log Pathology Reports, accession and pull charts for physician review.
- File slides and blocks.
- Compliance to safety regulations.
- Review all slides and documentation to ensure information is accurate
- May assist with maintenance of Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes
- May assist with ordering laboratory supplies and appropriately store supplies.
- May assist with maintenance of current policies and procedures for all lab functions.
- May assist with the overall responsibility for maintenance and storage of all lab records and patient slides, according to law.
- Input of diagnosis codes to prepare for finalizing reports for pathologists.
- Any other duties as required to ensure QualDerm Partners' operations are successful.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years experience in lab or medical office setting required
- Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
- Associates Degree required
