Loan Administration Specialist
Description
The Loan Administration Specialist provides ongoing support in the administration of vendors required for Consumer and Real Estate loans and the overall loan portfolio of LCCU. Collaborates with various teams, including vendor owners in Lending, Compliance, Finance, Information Security, Accounting, etc. to assist in gathering of vendor review documents and other required items with LCCU's vendor oversight program.
Duties:
- Manage and oversee all operations related to vendors of Lending department in a self-sufficient manner while escalating exceptional issues to the VP of Real Estate Lending or VP of Consumer Lending.
- Act as main point of contact of vendors for issues and questions.
- Work closely with upper management with the training of all new department employees related to 3rd party systems.
- Identify ways to make the department run more efficiently and actively participate in implementing projects aimed at procedural enhancements and improvement.
- Work with the Accounts Payable department to rectify any outstanding department outages and ensure accuracy of department balancing.
- Establish a trusted relationship with vendor owners and serve as a partner for business units.
- Perform general office administration duties.
- Communicate LCCU's due diligence requirements and documentation requests to vendors and servicers.
- Maintain vendor relationship inventory, files, due diligence artifacts, and related documentation in the vendor management lending folders.
- Identify and evaluate vendor management software providers for new features and functionalities.
- Support vendor relationship owners in coordinating meetings, demos and reviews with vendors as needed.
- Develop and deliver assessments, and reports to vendor owners and servicing manager as needed.
- Provide records and documentation for internal and external audits as requested.
- Maintain regular communication with vendor owners regarding vendor performance, issues, and exceptions.
- Make initial contact and follow up with vendors and potential vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred and minimum 3 + years' experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Spanish is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of Loan Administration and Servicing.
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence in collaborating with internal and external colleagues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and experience with other financial and reporting systems. Should have basic computer skills.
- Must be a team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new projects and ideas.
- Meets compliance and regulatory standards in terms of collection, delinquency control, and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, and a friendly helpful manner are essential. Must be willing to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
- Strong relationship management skills to facilitate and support communications between Lending staff.
- Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers.
- Ability to thrive in an environment with a multi-cultural team.
- Demonstrates mastery and self-sufficiency of basic and advanced department duties.
- Must have proven ability to go above and beyond basic department responsibilities with a willingness to assist the Loan Account Servicing Manager with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be patient, honest, confident, and service-oriented.
- Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by management.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Must be able to address simultaneously, multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use the computer and telephone to complete work, and lift up to 30 pounds at times.
