Job Description

The Staff Accountant will be a key contributor to the AP Americas accounting team, responsible for maintaining accounting internal controls and supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. This role plays an integral part in the month-end close process, preparation of financial statements, and execution of various general accounting functions. This position requires close collaboration with corporate and retail teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and a proactive team player, committed to driving process improvements and operational efficiency.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform a wide range of general accounting functions to support accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger account balances
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting; analyze and explain variances
• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and recharges
• Reconcile monthly corporate credit card transactions
• Collaborate with other departments to support business needs
• Support internal and external audit requirements
• Prepare departmental reports and ad hoc analysis as needed
• Support operational accounting functions (AR/AP) on an as-needed basis

OTHER

• Ownership of travel topics
• Create purchase orders for finance team
• Crosstrain with other accounting functions to improve team performance

Qualifications

• AA in Accounting + min 5 years of experience
• Strong working knowledge with a major ERP system
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Desire to learn and adapt continuously, challenge the status quo
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines
• Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple projects, taking initiative, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
